Day trip to Oostende with restaurant & store tip!
/In January, we visited De Haan with 5 girlfriends, and it was a blast!
We decided to walk to Oostende from De Haan. It was a beautiful day. Even though the wind was cold, the sun really came through for us.
When reaching Oostende, you need to cross the port. There is a free ferry every 20 minutes. A boat ride that adds to that exhilirating holiday feeling.
We set off on our 10k journey around 11 AM; so we were famished when we finally reached Oostende! With a slogan like “I’m sorry what I said when I was hungry”, we were immediately drawn to Mommy’s Bastards. An industrial interior with lots of light and greens.
We ordered 5 sharing plates and the food was divine!
They also have homemade iced tea, though the citrus one was deemed too sour by 4 of our 5-person company.
Even though it’s not cheap food, it’s well worth the price! Especially when sharing with friends.
A little shopping spree in Oostende continued.
We spent most of our time in “Ferm Concept Store”. The front part of the store is filled with little trinkets that are actually useful. In the back you’ll find some great clothing brands. A store when you’re looking for something out of the ordinary.
After this, we hopped on the tram back to De Haan.
It was a great day,
