One of our favourites: Saint Emilion.

If you’re a wine-connoisseur, you of course recognize Saint-Émilion from the Grands Crus Classés. The St Emilion region is an Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) near Bordeaux. The village is registered as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The climb to the higher regions is quite punchy, but when you reach the top you can easily enjoy the historic buildings hiding in the narrow alleys of this Dordogne village.

If you’re staying with us in September, you should definitely visit the village when the Jurade is happening. This medieval celebration of wine, history and community spirit brings such charm to the cobbled alleyways. The entire village transforms to a ceremony that nurtures wine enthusiasm. You will find all members of the Jurade in a procession of red robes. These Jurats guard the centuries old traditions of harvest and wines.
